Resources for Colonie Residents
These resources are links to external resources that Colonie residents may find useful in participating in various government proceedings and advocating for the interests of their neighborhood. All of the board and committee meetings listed below are open to the public.
Town Board
Information about the Colonie Town Board, including the Town Supervisor, can be found here. This information includes a bio for each board member, with contact information including phone number and email address.
The Town Board meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursday each month at 7 PM in Town Hall. The current meeting agenda can be found here.
Town Board meetings are now livestreamed. You can access the meeting broadcasts on the website. There is an agenda organizing session at 6 PM prior to each Town Board meeting. This portion of the meeting takes place in the Supervisor's Conference Room on the 2nd floor of Town Hall and is not live streamed. If you plan to attend the Town Board meeting, it is worth it to attend this session as well, which is open to the public except for times they go into Executive Session.
Planning Board
The Colonie Planning Board meets every other Tuesday at 7 PM.

In 2018 SAVE Colonie began maintaining files posted on the Planning Board website with each agenda so that they are available for public review following meetings. Once a new agenda is posted, these materials are removed from the Town website and no longer easily public accessible. Comprehensive plan Advisory committee
In 2016 the Town of Colonie began a process to update its Comprehensive Plan. The final plan was adopted in 2019. You can learn more about the Plan here. There are also documents from the work done during the update on our Other Archived Town Documents Page.
Zoning board of appeals (ZBA)
The Zoning Board of Appeals reviews and decides on appeals regarding the Colonie Land Use Law and Town Law section 280a. The ZBA also hears applications for special use permits.
Meetings of the ZBA occur at 7 PM on the first and third Thursday of each month.

Sign review Board
The Sign Review Board meets every other Tuesday at 7 PM. This board reviews applications for special exceptions to the sign provisions of the Town Code.
Conservation Advisory Council (CAC)
The Conservation Advisory Council meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month at 7 PM.

Mission: According to the town website, the CAC "maintains the Town's open space inventory, promotes interest in the environment through bulletin board displays, public relations, and educational presentations. The CAC supports efforts involved with the acquisition of environmentally significant properties located within the Town and coordinates and assists in the Town’s Conservation Day and Hazardous Waste Day programs."

Public Works
The Latham Water Division maintains all of the drinking water infrastructure for the Town of Colonie. For questions about your drinking water, or to report a water main break, you can contact Latham Water at (518) 783-2750. You can read the Latham Water Annual Water Quality Report here.
The Division of Pure Waters maintains all of the public wastewater infrastructure (sewers) in the Town of Colonie. For questions about your neighborhood's sewers, or to report a sewage overflow or break, you can contact the Division of Pure Waters at (518) 783-2766, ext. 4.
The Division of Highway is responsible for town road maintenance, including paving and snow removal. You can contact the Division of Highway at (518) 783-2795.
